discover nightworks.
The exhibition "Nightworks" was created in the late hours of the night and shows a cross-section of Petter Andreas Jørgensen's artistry. The motifs often express clear and colorful female figures painted into dark backdrops where a neon-like artificial light blasts away the darkness.
The Gallery.
Galleri Verftsgata is located in the old industrial shipyard at Nedre Elvehavn, Trondheim. Close to the riverside and the shopping area Solsiden. We’re building an inviting space to promote artists seeking a larger audience. Exhibitions will pop up one after another throughout the year. We’re not in the big league, yet. But we try harder ;-)
Petter.
People often ask me about the thoughts behind my paintings. Maybe they are disappointed when I answer that I don't have clear thoughts or meanings behind the expression. I guess I'm really just looking to create strong moods, and try to be conscious when I put color and shape on my own subconscious.
Petter Andreas Jørgensen was all about becoming a music artist at a young age. At 18, he was promoted as Norway's new pop talent. In 1995, the ballad "A Strange Thing Called Love" thundered into first place on the national radio charts.
And then it all went black.
I painted my first painting one night in 2012. I saw colors and found ambitions again. And I was hooked from the first brushstroke. I enjoy painting evening motifs where intense light bursts through the darkness. When I think about it, I've never really painted a daylight motif.
